First Day of School

So, here we go again people. This is going to be the true story of my first year of teaching in another state. The great moments and the ones that make me scratch my head as well.

I really liked my first day. I could have used a nap at around 11am, but my energy will build. Since I arrived here last Friday I have had a sense of calm - which is odd because I felt like throwing up every day before I left Minneapolis. When I get a chance I will attach some photos from the last weekend that Charley took before he left. My first impression is that I really like my town. Great old buildings, stores and development happening everywhere. I have a movie theater, a Best Buy, Target and a cool bowling alley. What more could I ask for??

Tomorrow I take over one art class, of kids that almost cried when they heard they were getting another teacher. Ah, for once not my drama. I also take over my one language arts class, where to begin. The teacher was just filler, and thought she was going to be there a week SOOOOO she was not following a lesson plan. That class will be a challenge, wait who am I kidding ALL of the classes will be a challenge. I am going to really enjoy this, but will be very tired at the end of each day. I am going to look into after school teaching/ tutor opportunities as a part time job, only because the pay is way better. If it was not I would be working at Bowl- arama down the street and perfecting my game.

So far my neighbors are not showing me Minnesota nice, and I hope that the heels I heard on my kitchen ceiling after work were from a woman. ; ) Anybody know if Naughty Catholic translates into naughty Mormon?? Just kidding.

I will try and do this 2-3 times a week. I hope you enjoy this window into life outside of Minneapolis. This will not be as drama heavy as past blogs, who knows who will be reading.
