I am giving you a break, really.

I have the rest of the week 'off' of school, so I am going to try and get out of town. I got a digital camera from school soooooooooooo be looking for some photos this weekend or something.

Things continue to go well at school. I am helping with Learning Lab after school on Tuesday and Thursdays. These are the students struggling in Math or English. I also said I would take the lead in Saturday School. By doing these two things I will not have to work retail or at B&N. I can not tell you happy that makes me. That and I will get more experience within the school. Here are my stories from our first after school session........I go over to quiet a kid down for the second time. This small child calls me, no joke - BOY. I gave him my best unhappy face and asked him if he would like to start over. I let him know that he could call me Sir, Mr. Ryding or the guy who is going to call your parents!!

Ok, I took a 24 hour break. People call, so I have to run for the broken phone.

Where was I? As to a previous post about my class and religion, I knew it was thin ice but I told the student that I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. This is also the student that want to do a routine in my class - he wants to do shtick. I was dying on the inside when he asked if he could open class with a joke. I might let him do it on Fridays.

My plans for going to Jackson are slipping away. It is supposed to be cold and rainy. That is not good motorcycle weather.

I found out today that I was actually picked over other applicants. They had two local people that were interviewed, but that the principal wanted me. I KNOW!! Doesn't that just kill you? I was surprised to learn that as well. My mentor told me today, we were almost the only teachers at school. Sad thing is that I might go back tomorrow. I got so much done today, the students will not know what hit them. I am a grading machine. Dunes, I realize I write poorly BUT these kids need me to be at my best to get them to the next level.

Ok, movie reviews since the last time............

Papillon - McQueen, Hoffman come on. I like looking at the other actors, like seeing the cook from the TV Show Alice. It wasn't the best, but it was fun to watch those two great actors.
Raising Helen - Why do they keep making movies like this? AND why in the heck am I watching them???
Columbo (Season 1) - How can you not like Peter Falk?
Cinema Paradiso - I will be watching that during the next 24 hours.

Yes, I do like a wide variety.
