It has been a couple weeks since I left home. Because Minnesota is really the place I believe is my home. It is not my house, my garage or anything like that. It is the place, the people and the history. I miss it very much.
I told a friend the other night that I felt like a 14 year old kid after summer camp once I left. I talk to friends on the phone and almost say things like "Hey, I will check with my parents to see if they can take me to Valley Fair to meet you this weekend - you ask you folks too.." or I feel like I was the exchange student and I should have passed around a yearbook to have everybody sign before I went back to Idaho. Such a language barrier.
The kiddos are really making some great art these days. I also have my seventh grade class doing a report on an artist, which is really blowing their little minds. I have been slow to start creating art since I got back, and I am sure it has nothing to do with the TV a coworker gave me. Naw! I do love my three hours of NCIS on the Ion channel Monday nights. I am trying to find a balance, but not that hard. I have a month left of this trimester and will be teaching positive/negative space, water color, paper mache? and linoleum prints. It should be crazy!!
My position was for a year, so I need to reapply for next year. I thought this would be a good time to see what is out there for me........so I currently have 5 applications out for other teaching positions back in the midwest. Should be interesting. God has been doing a lot of things in my life this year, and somehow I have made it through (with His help).
Just so you can plan your winter/spring...............this is a nice place to visit. I have time over Feb. 13th weekend, April 10th(when is Easter), and something else. I am known to show people a good time. That and I am praying this is my last chance to be able to do this :) The door is open for me being able to give the same tour next year, we just never know.
Here is my last thing, which should make most of you chuckle..........I forgot to make my profile private before I left Minnesota on Match.com. Eek! I say this because it came up the other week when I came up on a friends search. What do these computers know :O So, I went to the site today. I was shocked to see emails, winks and matches. The bad thing is that I can not see some of that because I do not pay for those features. Oh well, I guess I will just focus on what is in front of me. Fields, cows and kids. I think I would rather speed date instead of online stuff. Can you imagine reading my profile the way I spell?? Maybe an English teacher would take pity on me.
Things are moving here, which is good. I move in with a buddy in two month. I am also making friends, see so much like summer camp. Tell mom I said hello, and money for the canteen would be great. I also met this girl, but since I am fourteen am more likely to just make fun of her OR sit by her at the campfire. Tough one.
