What is going on....

I didn't check when I last wrote, but it does seems like it has been awhile. Things have been moving along. I am currently into my second weekend at the movie theater. Wow, it is hard work putting up with complete idiots - oh, I mean high school girls from the sticks. I did see a movie for free this week - it sucked. Eagle Eye, do not waste your time.

School has been getting stressful, but I do see a light. I have five more days of the first trimester, if I make it. I have two short weeks before digging in before Christmas break. I am getting my thoughts together and I am starting to feel good. I do not want to fail the kids I have for Language Arts, so I am doing everything in my power for them to get their grades up. I have my one student who is doing poorly, and his parents asked for extra credit. HA, I told them I would rather have him focus on the work I do hand out instead of extra work. I did have fun with my class on Friday. I realize that I have high expectations and am new at all of this stuff. I started throwing animal crackers around at kids. It was funny. I walked around and handed some out to each student. I have this one kid who is a quiet, cute little student that hardly makes a peep. She showed up at Saturday School with her mother for a moment. The girl is So shy, and I try everything with her. I said hello to her mother and her mother said that her daughter really liked my class. I was shocked. I tell these students enough of my life as a student for them to connect to what I am trying to do. I have decided that tomorrow is the day I start to wage my campaign on the next trimester. I forgot my keys today so I could not get into my classroom - me not happy!!

I shaved down to just a mustache this week - for giggles. I couldn't handle it for more then a day. The next day the students ALL said they missed it, and that I looked good with it. I was laughing so hard. One kid said I looked like cowboy. If I didn't have an earring. A cowboy with tattoos. He kept adding something else, very funny. I am still on the fence about shaving my head next week. It is a 50-50 split within my inner dialog.

I have come to terms on the fact that I am a novelty. I have not found anyone that is not from the area, or within a short drive from the area. One teacher is from California, but let us just say she is not friendly.

Going to have a little talk with the upstairs neighbor today or tomorrow. I moved my room AND have been woken up 8 out of the last 10 days. I am thinking an air horn will help get my point across. It is her kids room that is above me, so he might not realize that jumping on the floor at 5am is a bad thing. ;)

Anyone want to buy a nice house in Minneapolis? Hello?
